This wine bothy renovation was completed for a returning client, with the aim of creating a refined yet understated space that remained true to the character of the existing steading and celebrated natural materials.

The works included the installation of a new concrete floor with DPM, providing a durable and long-lasting base, alongside the careful lime pointing of the stone walls to preserve breathability and enhance the original fabric of the building.

We designed and installed bespoke larch shelving, complemented by a workshop-made hardwood door set, both selected to sit comfortably within the agricultural language of the steading. Feature light fittings were introduced to highlight the textures of the materials and create a warm, inviting atmosphere.

The finished bothy is a simple, characterful space - carefully detailed, material-led and quietly confident in its setting.
