At Northbrae, we delivered a warm, contemporary extension designed to connect the home with its stunning natural surroundings. The project centered around the creation of a new garden room extension paired with an inviting outdoor canopy area, forming a seamless indoor-outdoor living experience.

A large structural opening was formed to link the existing atrium with the new extension, creating a bright, open-plan space that flows naturally through the home. The extension features underfloor heating for year-round comfort, Russwood external cladding for a refined, natural finish and high-performance Nordan windows and doors to maximise light and frame the hillside views.

The outdoor canopy was crafted using douglas fir posts and beams, adding warmth, character and a beautiful architectural feature that complements the landscape. From here, the outlook over the hillside provides an ever-changing backdrop to the space.

Inside, the addition of a Firebob stove creates a cosy focal point, balancing the modern glazing with rustic comfort. We also crafted and installed oak storage cabinets, finishing the room with practical elegance and natural texture.

The Northbrae project brings together craftsmanship, thoughtful detailing and an emphasis on natural materials - resulting in a space that feels both grounded in its setting and elevated in its design.
