This project focused on transforming an underused single garage into a series of practical, beautifully finished spaces designed around the needs of modern family life. By converting the existing garage and remodelling the adjoining utility room, we created a dedicated home office, a spacious new utility room and a bespoke cloaks area that provides both style and everyday functionality.

The home office offers a calm, contemporary workspace, while the redesigned utility room maximises storage and efficiency through carefully planned cabinetry and layout. Together, these spaces have significantly improved the way the home functions without increasing its footprint.

A standout feature of the project is the bespoke cloaks area, complete with handcrafted storage, a solid ash bench top and an integrated dog shower. Finished with a playful ‘Woof’ mosaic tile and contemporary black brassware, the dog shower has already proved a favourite with the family’s new Labrador puppy, Nova. The solid ash bench was crafted from timber sourced through the Inchmarlo Men’s Shed, giving new life to a locally felled tree while supporting a fantastic community organisation.

The result is a home that works harder for modern family living, making better use of existing space while adding character, practicality and carefully considered design throughout. This project demonstrates how thoughtful planning, bespoke joinery and quality craftsmanship can unlock the full potential of an existing home.
