The Barn is one of Banchory’s most loved arts and events venues and our recent upgrade works focused on enhancing both its appearance and long-term durability. The project centered on improving the building’s main entrance and essential escape routes, ensuring the venue remains welcoming, safe and robust for years to come.

To refresh the foyer and create a cleaner, more resilient entrance, we replaced the existing windows and doors with high-performance Nordan windows paired with a new aluminum double door set. These upgrades significantly improved natural light, thermal performance and day-to-day usability while aligning with the venue’s contemporary aesthetic.

Beyond the main entrance, we were also tasked with addressing deteriorated fire escape doors. These were fully removed and replaced with new metal fire escape door sets, providing improved safety, security and durability - essential for a busy venue hosting a diverse range of events.

The result is a brighter, stronger and more reliable entrance and escape system for The Barn. These upgrades not only improve the visitor experience but also support the venue’s ongoing operation, ensuring it continues to serve the community as a vibrant cultural hub
