Renovations
Project details

This steading alterations and renovation project focused on enhancing light, comfort and functionality while respecting the character of the original rural building. The brief was to sensitively modernise the property, improving performance and layout without losing its agricultural identity.

A full NorDan window and door installation was carried out, significantly upgrading thermal performance while introducing refined, contemporary detailing. Structural alterations were undertaken to form new south-facing picture frame window openings, carefully positioned to maximise natural light and views while strengthening the connection between interior spaces and the surrounding landscape.

Internally, the layout was reconfigured to create a flexible annexe space, alongside a new kitchen and utility, designed for modern living within a traditional envelope. The project was completed with new floor coverings and full internal decoration, creating a cohesive, warm interior palette throughout.

The result is a bright, comfortable home that balances modern living requirements with the honest character of the original steading - an example of thoughtful adaptation rooted in place and purpose.
